The number of cars arriving in and travelling around Garda Trentino continues to grow. This trend brings challenges that are well known to local residents and can negatively affect the visitor experience. These considerations led to the creation of the AutoStop project, which aims to reduce traffic across the destination by encouraging visitors to leave their car parked for at least one day and experience Garda Trentino on foot, by bike or by public transport. It is a simple way to respect nature and help protect the environment of Garda Trentino, embracing a greener and more sustainable way of travelling.

How does AutoStop work?
Guests register for the project through a dedicated online form. Once their registration has been validated by the accommodation provider, they receive a welcome kit containing information about alternative transport options in Garda Trentino. At the end of their stay, the guest’s name is added to a virtual noticeboard featuring the four symbolic trees of the destination: the olive tree, walnut tree, larch and vine. This is also where we publicly thank everyone who has chosen to help protect the environment in which we live.
