LOCAL COMMUNITY

Information, projects and opportunities for dialogue dedicated to our residents

Our destination positioning clearly states one thing: tourism can only work if it guarantees a high-quality experience for visitors while, at the same time, contributing to maintaining a high quality of life for the people who live and work here.

This means taking care of the territory responsibly, focusing on sustainability that is not only environmental, but also economic, social and cultural. A balance that connects work, services, relationships, local identity and opportunities for new generations.

For this reason, over time, we will increasingly provide resources dedicated to residents: content, projects and opportunities for discussion designed to make tourism a shared value rather than a distant topic.

1926 - 2026: One hundred years of tourism
An anniversary for the whole destination

In 1926, the Azienda Autonoma di Riva del Garda was founded, laying the foundations for what is now the Tourism Board.

One hundred years later, we are celebrating a milestone that belongs to the whole of Garda Trentino. Over the past century, tourism and the local community have grown side by side, contributing to the development of the area and shaping its identity. To mark this occasion, we have organised a programme of initiatives open to everyone, celebrating the past, experiencing the present and looking towards the future together.

Perché Turismo
Data, impacts and dialogue to better understand the role of tourism

Perché Turismo is a reflection and discussion project focused on the economic and social impacts of tourism in Garda Trentino. A project created to raise awareness, encourage dialogue and strengthen the relationship between the destination and the community that experiences it every day.

The initiative was developed together with TSM – Trentino School of Management and the University of Trento, involving experts, public administrations, tourism operators and residents through moments of discussion, training and active listening.

The goal is to share data, tools and perspectives to understand tourism in a more informed way and support decisions that are useful for both the present and future of the territory.

OPEN DAY GARDA TRENTINO
Sharing how we work together, every day, for our destination

In 2026, on February 27 and 28, we opened the doors of our headquarters in Riva del Garda for the first edition of the Open Day Garda Trentino.

Two days dedicated to residents and schools, involving more than 150 participants between citizens and students in a real journey through our organization and what it means today to manage a tourism destination.

We chose to put ourselves out there because we believe tourism must be built together with the community, through transparency and dialogue.

We want to explain how we are working — in an increasingly structured way — towards sustainable and responsible tourism, coordinated and balanced with residents’ daily life, while opening new spaces for communication and discussion with the territory.

Help us improve

Your opinion truly matters

Garda Trentino is your home before being a tourist destination. This is why your perspective is essential.

Sustainability is a shared journey that can only work by listening to the people who live in the territory every day.

If you wish, you can dedicate a few minutes to completing a sustainability questionnaire. The answers collected will help us understand what is working well, where we can improve and how to guide future decisions in a more conscious way, with the goal of creating an increasingly balanced, inclusive and people-oriented development model.
