MOVING RESPONSIBLY

Our positioning as an outdoor destination and the direction we have chosen regarding sustainability require us to go one step further: it is not enough to simply “encourage” people to leave their cars behind — we must make it genuinely possible to move around in a simple, reliable way that is consistent with the quality of the experience.

For this reason, alongside the promotion of soft mobility and the expansion of the cycling network, we also support concrete sustainable mobility actions: on-demand services, urban shuttles, seasonal connections, integration with public transport and pilot initiatives that evolve into long-term projects.

Most importantly, we work to ensure these opportunities are visible and easy to use: on our destination website we present and regularly update available services through dedicated pages covering public transport, shuttles, ferries, lifts and rentals, available to guests, residents and local businesses.

bus&go

On-demand transport in Alto Garda

With Bus&Go, we made it easier to use public transport even when travel needs do not follow “standard” schedules.

It is an on-demand service bookable via app: users select their departure and arrival points, reach the nearest stop and travel through a solution integrated with the existing transport network.

Launched in 2022 on the initiative of the municipalities of Arco, Riva del Garda and Nago-Torbole, together with Trentino Trasporti and with our collaboration, Bus&Go has grown year after year.

In 2024, the service exceeded 38,000 passengers, confirming itself as a concrete response to traffic pressure and the growing demand for more flexible mobility solutions from both residents and guests.

For the 2025 edition, the service was expanded to five minibuses, including one electric vehicle and one dedicated to connections with climbing crags, improving both the efficiency and sustainability of the transport system while reaching almost 56,000 users.

As a Tourism Board, we contribute operationally: we promote the service, integrate it into destination communication, collect feedback from guests and operators and share it with municipalities in order to improve the service season after season.

Bus&Go also represents an important opportunity for guests staying with the Garda Guest Card, as the service is included among its benefits.

RIVETTA

Urban shuttle service in Riva del Garda

Rivetta is the shuttle service that, during peak periods, facilitates mobility within the city by connecting parking areas and strategic points with the centre of Riva del Garda.

It is an initiative promoted by the Municipality of Riva del Garda together with Trentino Trasporti, to which we contribute as a destination partner: helping raise visibility, guiding guests towards the service and integrating it into a wider mobility system.

In summer 2025, the service was reactivated and strengthened, with two lines and more functional coverage for residents, workers and visitors. A seasonal weekend and holiday connection to Pregasina was also introduced.

For us, the value is twofold: on one hand reducing traffic in the most sensitive areas, and on the other making the city more liveable and accessible, improving the quality of the experience both for those who live here daily and for those choosing it as a holiday destination.

AUTOSTOP

A small gesture for better mobility in Garda Trentino

AutoStop is the project through which we encourage guests and accommodation facilities to reduce car use during their stay by experiencing Garda Trentino on foot, by bike or through public transport.

A simple and concrete initiative created to reduce traffic, improve the quality of the experience and protect the environment in which we live.

Participating accommodation facilities become active partners in the project, explaining to guests how to move around without a car and offering them symbolic recognition, as well as the opportunity to take part in a Garda Trentino Experience free of charge.

A concrete way to contribute to more sustainable mobility, enhance the territory and strengthen the role of accommodation facilities as drivers of change.

JOIN THE PROJECT

SUSTAINABLE MOBILITY IN VALLE DI LEDRO

In Valle di Ledro, we worked on a structured project that goes beyond simply managing existing mobility systems.

In 2024, together with the Municipality of Ledro, within the framework of the ATA Garda Trentino activities and with the support of specialised consultants, we developed an in-depth analysis process based on data, stakeholder listening, surveys, monitoring activities and pilot initiatives during the Fiera di San Michele.

The process also included an operational pilot during the fair itself, allowing us to test solutions directly in the field and gather useful feedback from residents, operators and visitors. The work led to the development of a Strategic Plan for Sustainable Mobility, formally adopted by the municipal administration and now entering the implementation phase according to the ASI logic – Avoid, Shift, Improve:

➔ Avoid: prevent unnecessary travel and reduce pressure on critical areas;
➔ Shift: encourage the transition towards collective transport and shared services;
➔ Improve: improve the efficiency and impact of available solutions.

For us, this represents a clear example of method: analysis, listening, experimentation and, above all, a shared plan translated into concrete actions for the territory.

ZERO DIRECT-EMISSION INNOVATION

Electric RIBs for sailing

Sustainable mobility also involves water and major events.In collaboration with VSR and the local sailing clubs, we introduced a fleet of five electric RIBs with zero direct emissions, designed to support regattas and sailing events in Garda Trentino.

The objective is to reduce noise and environmental impact during events while reinforcing Garda Trentino’s role as a territory of experimentation: a place where innovation is tested in practice and leaves a useful legacy beyond the single event itself. It is one coherent element within a broader path that has seen the lake increasingly oriented towards cleaner solutions compatible with environmental quality over the years.
