Outdoor Park garda trentino

A collaboration model that brings together institutions, technical experts and local communities to continuously manage, maintain and enhance the outdoor infrastructures of Garda Trentino.

CARE AND MANAGEMENT OF OUR TERRITORY

The Outdoor Park Garda Trentino is the project through which, since 2009, we have been taking structured and continuous care of the destination’s outdoor infrastructures.

An integrated system of management, maintenance and enhancement that over time has become a recognised model even at European level, capable of combining tourism development with territorial protection.

We operate across a wide and diverse area including Garda Trentino, Valle di Ledro, the Comano area, Valle dei Laghi and Val di Gresta: a delicate ecosystem that requires constant attention, specific expertise and shared responsibility.

A participatory governance model

At the heart of the Outdoor Park Garda Trentino lies a structured collaboration between public institutions and local stakeholders. The project involves Garda Dolomiti Azienda per il Turismo, municipal administrations, Valley Communities, the Forestry Department and the Autonomous Province of Trento, Local Police, local branches of the SAT – Società Alpinisti Tridentini and biking associations.

Operational coordination is entrusted to a Technical Working Group, which meets annually to define the development and management plan. Activities are planned collaboratively, with the objective of ensuring a balanced, safe and sustainable use of the territory, while respecting those who live here every day.

OBJECTIVES AND GUIDELINES
A project for the daily management of the territory

Through the Outdoor Park Garda Trentino, we work to:

➔ plan and design the development of outdoor activities and infrastructures in a sustainable way;
➔ define roles, timelines, responsibilities and communication methods among all involved stakeholders;
➔ prevent conflicts between tourism use and the daily life of local residents;
➔ ensure the continuous conservation and maintenance of outdoor infrastructures;
➔ make the outdoor experience safer, more organised and accessible to different visitor profiles;
➔ reduce environmental impact and promote a conscious use of the landscape.

the GARDA RANGERS
Daily presence across the territory

The operational core of the Outdoor Park project is represented by the Garda Rangers: a team of specialised professionals working daily throughout the territory.

Their activities include:

➔ monitoring signage and access points;
➔ ordinary and extraordinary maintenance of trails, climbing crags and via ferratas;
➔ vegetation management and trail safety interventions;
➔ data management and monitoring through weekly reports.

Their work is essential to guarantee an outdoor experience aligned with the destination’s quality standards and with the expectations of guests, partners and residents.
